A CELEBRATION OF LIFE - ED ADAM

Edward Adam 1939 - 2021

A Celebration of Life in honor of Ed Adam will be held on Sunday August 15, 2021 at Project Oceanology, 1084 Shennecossett Rd, Groton, CT from 10am to 12pm.

Ed was an exceptionally dynamic and charismatic man, a science teacher for 37 years at Cutler Middle School in Groton, and one of the founders of Project Oceanology. As one of the founders, Ed spearheaded a group of educators to secure funding from the State of Connecticut to begin the Project. He helped to hire a director, Dr. Mickey Weiss, and gathered a solid core of teachers from surrounding towns, all of whom developed a strong commitment to the Project and formed everlasting friendships.

Ed also represented the Groton Public School District for many years on the Project O Delegate Assembly. Project Oceanology benefited greatly from Ed's considerable practical manual skills, resourcefulness, experience with the outdoors, dedication to the environment and his wise and thoughtful advice which he provided with a contagious sense of humor.

Science education, the environment, farming and family were Ed's focus during his life. Ed was a gentle giant, with impressive strength and a big heart.

Family members, friends, and former students are invited to attend the Celebration of Life in Ed’s honor on August 15, 2021 to share stories, memories, and laughter. Coffee, cider, and donuts will be served.
