Boat Charter - EnviroLab Cruise
$1,650 - up to 50 participants
Board one of our large research vessels and head out to the sea for an unforgettable marine science experience! Take a sunset cruise along Long Island Sound, catch fish and plankton, participate in a seal population study, pull up a mud grab, use oceanographic equipment to measure water quality, partake in a maritime history and lighthouse cruise, and more! Each trip includes two highly trained Project Oceanology instructors who will teach you how to use our sampling gear, facilitate data collection, help you make sense of what you are finding, and teach a lesson on the topic of your choice.
Shore Program
$820 - up to 26 participants // $1,170 - up to 52 participants
The area around Project Oceanology boasts a rich diversity of habitats and organisms. Meet our educators at a local beach such as Bluff Point State Park in Groton, or meet at Project Oceanology (Avery Point) and either work at our beach or travel by skiff (additional skiff fee applies) to Pine Island. Meet the organisms, map out the habitats, and get your hands and feet wet as you explore the local ecology.
Rent Our Facility
4 beds/room; 14 rooms total
Hostel: $120/room - 7 room minimum
Our meeting room space is equipped with audio visual equipment and can be configured to your specifications. Seets up to 52 people.
Meeting Room/Classroom: $150 for 2.5 hours
Host your event in our waterfront cafeteria. Seats up to 52 people.
Cafeteria & Patio: $450 for 2.5 hours

Location: Meet at Project Oceanology in Groton, CT and then board one of our Carolina Skiffs and cruise the estuary and explore local habitats with your family.
Time: 3 Hour Excursions 9:00-12:00 or 1:00-4:00, Weekdays or Saturdays (holidays excluded)
Cost: $300
Best Practices:

Project O staff will wear a face covering while captaining the boat and during any marine science activities they lead

All family members older than 2 years old must wear a face covering when they can’t be socially distant from the Project O staff (ex. while on the skiff)

A maximum of 6 family members are able to board the skiff for the excursion

You must provide a Coast Guard approved PFD for Children age 2 or under
Please check the CT Travel Advisory and Gov. Lamont's Executive Order No. 7111 before registering for a charter. We require everyone included on the registration to abide by all State requirements concerning COVID-19.
