COLLEGE INTERNSHIPS - SUMMER CAMP

Project Oceanology is seeking energetic, enthusiastic college students to work at our summer camp and support hands-on marine science programming. Ideal candidates enjoy science, the outdoors, and working with youth in an educational camp setting. Applicants should have a strong interest in ocean and environmental science and be pursuing a degree in education, marine science, or a related field. Under the guidance of camp directors, interns will:
 

  • Supervise summer campers (age 9 through 17) during all activities, free time, and meals. 

  • Assist with medication administration (training provided). 

  • Co-develop and teach lessons under the instruction of Project Oceanology educators. 

  • Provide a safe, supportive, and friendly learning environment.

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER INTERNSHIP

Project Oceanology is seeking high school students for a part-time Marine Science Maintenance Technician position to join our summer camp staff. The primary responsibilities include the maintenance of aquaria and feeding of marine animals. Additional responsibilities include basic maintenance of science equipment and vessels used in camp programs. This position requires the ability to work successfully within a team environment and strong organizational skills, as well as attention to detail. This is an onsite position that requires in person work at our Groton, CT facility.

  • Schedule: Up to 24 hours per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays)

  • Duration: This position begins with a mandatory training week starting June 15, 2026. The regular summer camp schedule then runs through August 14, 2026.
