Marine Vessel Captain (Part-Time)
We are seeking a part-time Marine Vessel Captain to join our staff. The Marine Vessel Captain is responsible for all matters pertaining to the safety of passengers and crew. The position requires the use of independent judgment, initiative, maturity, observation, communication and supervisory skills. Reporting to the Fleet Operations Director, the Marine Vessel Captain’s primary responsibilities include the safe operation of the vessel, safety of all staff and passengers aboard the vessel, and coordination with Marine Science Educators to complete planned activities while maximizing the value of the educational programs. Additional responsibilities include basic maintenance of the vessel and associated equipment. This position requires the ability to work successfully within a team environment and strong organizational skills as well as attention to detail.

Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) (Part-Time)
We are seeking a part-time Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) to join our staff. The OUPV will support day-to-day operations for our educational and camp programs transporting program participants and staff, conducting operations to support research as well completing basic checks and maintenance of the vessel before and after daily operations. The Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel performs functions to safely transport program participants and staff to beaches, islands, other Project Oceanology vessels as well as conduct research activities. Reporting to the Fleet Operations Director, the OUPV’s primary responsibilities include the safe operation of the vessel, safety of all staff and passengers aboard the vessel, and coordination with Marine Science Educators to complete planned activities while maximizing the value of the educational programs. Additional responsibilities include basic maintenance of the vessel and associated equipment.
