Project Oceanology’s mission since 1972 has been to nurture interest and inspire enthusiasm for science and for our planet’s marine environment from our waterfront facility in Groton, Connecticut. Project Oceanology is a year-round, marine science educational organization governed by local school districts and in collaboration  with universities and other educational institutions.

FOUNDED IN 1972 BY A GROUP OF SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT TEACHERS & PUBLIC SCHOOLS ADMINISTRATORS

OUR 22,000 SQ FT WATERFRONT EDUCATION & RESEARCH FACILITY IS LOCATED ON THE LONG ISLAND SOUND

QUICK FACTS

PROJECT OCEANOLOGY HAS DONE PROGRAMS IN THE WATERS FROM NEW YORK CITY TO BOSTON.

OUR FLEET INCLUDES SKIFFS & TWO RESEARCH VESSELS: THE 52' ENVIRO-LAB II & THE 65' ENVIRO-LAB III

WE EDUCATE OVER 25,000 STUDENTS & ADULTS ANNUALLY IN MARINE SCIENCE EDUCATION & EXPLORATION
