A week long day
camp of hands-on, minds-on marine science. Get immersed in all
the elements of marine science - biology, chemistry, geology
and physics. Cruise the waters of Long Island Sound and do oceanographic
research. Study tidal marshes, rocky intertidal zones, sandy
beaches and near-shore marine life. Take the data and samples
you collect and make scientific discoveries in our modern research
labs.
Participants in Ocean Explorer Academy must
have COMPLETED either 4th, 5th or 6th grade. Each session typically
has 18 students in attendance. On Fridays, the last day of the
camp, families are invited to come out on the Enviro-lab for
an afternoon and share the learning that has taken place during
the week at camp.
