Roll up your sleeves, get your hands wet and have fun at our weeklong day camp. Explore Long Island Sound, rocky shores, salt marshes and barrier beaches. Discover the vital role habitats play in our coastal ecosystems by using scientific instruments, such as trawl and plankton nets and water chemistry kits.

Participants in Ocean Explorer Academy must have COMPLETED 3rd grade. Each session typically has 18 students. On Fridays, the last day of the camp, families are invited to come out on the Enviro-Lab for an afternoon and share the knowledge gleaned by campers during their week with Project O.

Sample daily schedule:
9:00 morning assembly
9:30 field work at Bluff Point, Bushy Point Beach or Avery Point Beach
12:00 lunch, usually in the field
12:30 pm continued field work at beaches or in laboratories
3:30 parents pick up

Please note: We discourage the use of cell phones or other electronic
devices during camp.
