Connecticut State Department of Education
Bureau of Choice Programs

Project Oceanology has submitted a request for funding to the Connecticut State Department of Education-Bureau of Choice Programs. The funds, if awarded would provide funding for three programs at Project Oceanology.

OceanCamp-Ocean Diversity Institute
Connecticut River Institute
Summer Marine Studies Program

Each program brings students from across the state of Connecticut together for hands-on, marine science education while at the same time learning about people from different cultural backgrounds.

Grant award notification will not be until mid-June, 2010.

The grant is for Connecticut residents only.

Building New England Connections (BNEC) will bring together teams of teachers using the watersheds and coastal environments of New England as a context for learning. Project Oceanology and Connecticut Sea Grant are providing this opportunity with funding from NOAA's Bay-Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) Program.
